Hey guys,

I see that Bud's Guns is selling some used Smith & Wesson model 64-7 revolvers for $279 delivered. Has anyone here ordered one?

Is it the pre-lock version with the trigger-mounted firing pin?

The 64-7 (introduced in 2002) will have a round butt, frame mounted firing pin, MIM lockwork, and the internal lock. In other words, all of the latest improvements.

Now the world knows. We have some special people down here in Texas. Particulary, Houston. Not just run of the mill folk, but special.

Some people believe in the boogey man, but our special people believe in the trigger mounter firing pin.....

Pleasde, do not mistreat out special people

Well you could say (sort of) that the Glock pistol has a trigger-mounted firing pin... :scrutiny:

Oh, I could care less what some folks might think of my typo. Most of you understood what I meant to say....

Too bad about Bud's model 64s having the newer frame-mounted firing system, which is a deal breaker for me. I'm sure that I'll come across an older one at a gun show for a decent price.

Thanks for the info.

See post #4.

J&G Sales has some older 64's at VERY attractive prices ($200 and under), but most if not all are double-action only.

I don't mind DAO on a defensive revolver, but a relatively inexpensive model 10 hammer and trigger will restore the single-action mode for those that want it.
