Hi guys,
Need a little help here, i own a 50 th anniversary flat top.
I would like to replace the hard rubber grip's for some new one's
wood or ivory they both look good. My question is.
Will most after market grips fit? Or am i limited to just a few ,that i found on line ?
I have seen some nice examples (pics) here on the HIGHROAD, some with Ruger emblems. Any suggestions are welcome , AND MORE PICS PLEASE :D

If the grips are advertised to fit your gun, they will fit it.

You need grips that will fit the "New XR3 style" grip frame:

"The NEW XR3 style grip frame is very similar to the original Ruger Single Action, Colt SAA style, introduced in 1953. The grip panel locator pin is in a slightly different location from the original, primarily due to the new internal safety lock mechanism. These frames are found on the smaller cylinder framed “New” Vaquero (2004) and the 50th Anniversary .357 Blackhawk “Flattop” (2005). They are also found on the larger cylinder frame 50th Anniversary .44 “Flattop” (2006)."

Here's what I'm using. They are thicker than the stock grips and fit my hand much better. American Holly

Here are a set of CLC grips made of American Holly with flat bottoms. These are on an old flat top but the new ones have the same style grip frame and Cary makes grips for old and new XR3 in addition to the other Ruger grip frames.

If they say 50th grips, they will fit any mid-frame Ruger, The 50th 'Flattop', the New Vaquero and the Lipsey's .44 Spl. 'Flattop'. They are all the same grip and frame size.

I'm a big fan of Cary C's Blackhawk grips over at www.clccustomgrips.com ! I have two pairs of his birdseye maple handles on my Rugers. They are stunning! It should be noted that he finished the other end of the grip screw and it looks amazing. He also includes an aluminum spacer that fits between the grip panels that the screw goes through. This prevents overtightening the screw and cracking the wood. Who else does that?

He'll also install the correct Ruger medallions for your gun if you wish and he has hardware in stainless or blue finishes.
