Cci Blazer Vs Wwb

I noticed today while shooting 250 rounds though my 380 auto the CCI cartrage would come out the side of my gun like a bat outta hell, and the gun had more recoil than the wwb. why is that? I did like the winchester a whole lot better.
that now puts my gun at 350 rounds shot with one miss feed due to limp wristing.
I love this gun! :D

I believe it's because Blazer is a bit hotter. I don't know if that is absolutely true, but there has been a consensus of such before, and such has been my experience.
Of the two, I prefer the WWB, but Blazer is still good stuff.
What is your gun, by the way?

Blazer cases are lighter because they are aluminum. Assuming the same recoil, the lighter case will eject faster.

I have no scientific proof, but I believe that the Blazers are hotter, particularly WWB. WWB tends to be mild.

I stand corrected. The WWB 95 grain runs at 955 fps, Blazer 95 gr at 945 fps. Must be the aluminum casing.

Anyone have an opinion on Blazer in .45 ACP?

I have shot several thousand Blazer in .45acp over the past 3 years and have had no problems with it.
About 3/4 was 200 gr FMJ and the rest was 200 gr JHP
It's the only way I can get the old 200gr Speer "Flying Ashtray" in a factory load from CCI anymore.

Not a scientific study, but I feel that the CCI's are hotter than the Winchester white box ammo. Either will work well in your gun & would really depend on which one you prefer.

We did some sometime back and Blazer were comparable to others. The were hotter than some, definitely NOT hotter than others. They are not as much hotter as people feel they are. They had a sharper recoil, but were not hotter.
Opinion on .45 acp? Simple. Great stuff. I have 25K+ through my 1911s and love it. We have a few thousand of 9mm through other guns and for $4 a box of 50, the price is great. The .45 is the cheapest non-Wolf .45 factory ammo I have found. For training purposes, it has recoil and muzzle flash comparable to Hydrashok 230 gr. In all those rounds, I have found two that were out of spec and they were out of round, not being able to chamber. With Winchester white box, the rate of failure seem to be closer to 1 in 1-3000 with occasional samples that are just a bad batch. With Winchester Winclean, we experienced failures more along the line of 1 in 10, that's ten and NOT ten thousand. They would not chamber or would not fire. Then they left a nasty brass coating inside the barrel that was the devil to get out. It was, however, great malfunction training ammo.

My pistol is a Hi-Point 380
put 350 rounds through it with no problems

It's hotter in other calibers... one advantage to CCI loads, is that it is much more consistant than the WWB or even other "better" loads. During some chrono testing we did one time, the CCIB had a +/- of only 2 or 3 FPS on average in the .45ACP loads where other loads averaged +/- of around 10 FPS. That consistancy is amazing.

AMEN!!!!!! Blazer is that consistent in all the calibers too.
The WWB is garbage, might as well shoot the steel cased imports as the quality is about the same.

Yeah, but WWB uses reloadable brass - and that makes it more attractive to many people.
If Blazer was in brass - It would be perfect.

I love Blazer .45. I have probably shot more of that out of my .45s than any other type.
Although not reloadable, I find it nice when I am "out in the hills", and don't worry about picking up those "precious" pieces of brass.

You do pick them up and put them in the trash don't you?

Yes, but accounting for every peice is not as important. "We" police the "range" when we are done, but invariably casings get stepped on, ground into the dirt, or otherwise just plain missed. If I didn't have to spend so much time picking up after the previous "trap" shooters, I might be a little more able to get everything I might have possibly left on the ground.

Like many others, I've had good experience with Blazer in both 9mm and .45. My SA 1911 Loaded 9mm actually worked better with Blazer than with S&B or UMC.

No problems with CCI Blazer 230gr out of my SW1911.
Cheap practice stuff.

Yeah, but that only matters in 45 acp and 357 Magnum. Everything else is nearly free..........

Whoops. Thanks for the research Grayrock. I guess we should have been more clear, George and I are reloaders and roll the vast majority of our ammo at home. Getting the 44 Special brass and 45 Colt brass is expensive when you can find it. We are not able to come up with "enough" brass at a low enough cost to suit us. I do appreciate your efforts though, and will likely buy some of that just to have a couple boxes of blaster ammo.
