My fiancee shot a buck this weekend that had white legs and hooves. I'd like to preserve the legs, but have no clue how. Can anybody help or give some advice on how I can best do this?

I assume you mean from the knees down? I think freeze drying[done in a very cold, dry freezer] would work.

If you desire them in a certain position, grab the tendon with a vise grip, pull to exactly where you want the leg to stay and use another vise grip firmly at the bone cut to hold the tendon. Release VG number one: repeat on other leg. Usually people are going for a 90 degree angle to use the legs as a long gun holder. It can work really well, and the color will add much to the final look. The very cold, very dry freezer works great. Do not rush the final product. It will be worth the wait.

I bend them to a 90 degree angle, (for use as a gun rack) tie them in that position with a piece of string, and let them dry that way. I have never had a problem with them.
