Following up on a previous post, what are your thoughts on this piece as an all-purpose low recoiler? I'd shoot it as a 12 gauge with a 28-inch barrel. Mostly for clays but also for some bird shooting. Thanks.

Good do-all gun, look for different level loads for different game(s).....

If you are looking for low recoil, I assume you are going to be using very light loads. A lot of them are fine, but I have seen 11-87s have difficulty cycling some 1 ounce loads, and a lot of 7/8 ounce loads. If you do not need the 3" option, I would look at a 2-3/4" 1100, or a target Model 11-87. The target 11-87 barrels are set up non-compensating, and they are fine with the lighter loads.

As stated above, make sure it is a premier, or a light contour barrel.
