I work in a gun shop I can have ANYTHING I wanT well today grabbed one of them new Colt WW1 repros, all carbonaed and correct...picked it up, flashed to the trenches at the edge of the Argonne Forest, cannons booming, bombs blasting in the distance, my helmet tilted rakeishly over one eye, Galouise dangling from my lips as I readied myself to go over the top and charge the filthy Hun waiting with their Maxims behind the wire.....

I CANT SEE THE FREAKIN SIGHTS! Like they are so old style and I am getting so blind, that this lovely piece of repro history is WORTHLESS to me....

Whats nextfor me...red dots on all of my pistols...???

Thanks for letting me vent

All testing in PA is free .... :p

MapQuest didn't show directions, AK to AR ( can't get there from here I guess) I used Vancover...I'm closer...~200 mi. I win :neener:

Of course I skewed the map...business is business...:D

I CANT SEE THE FREAKIN SIGHTS!

I am having trouble seeing the sights on my SA Champion, my every day carry weapon. If I wear the glasses to see the sights, I can't see the target. Last Christmas, Mrs. Bear gave me Crimson Trace Laser Grips. I love them. I still practice with out the laser, but the switch is on while carrying.

Are you nuts! 12 shots and Wild is gonna expect his pistol back! :D

No this "testing" is gonna take some time, we must be thorough, we have to make sure about the sights. No misleading, no misinformation to the forum members...in the tradition of SWAT...geez- work with me here, don't think Wild has bought it yet... :neener:

work with me here, don't think Wild has bought it yet... Hmmm . true ... stoopid to set a shots limit .... yep ... on reflection this is gonna be an ''all day'' deal ... at least!!

So ..... ammo ....... well as long as we both bring 500 rounds each ..... and, plenty of targets ... and the chiller and ...... several 6 packs .... and,...... hmmm ...... food requirements .... should be OK. Just be sure Wild picks up the tab for a motel ... this will perforce now involve an over night stay.

Then there's out gas mileage .... hell ... this is gonna cost him an arm and half a leg!!:D

OK Wild ...... we got a plan. But (speaks in whisper) ..... send the piece to me first!! :p

There does exist the possibilty that this "sighting problem" needs to be more thoroughly tested. One specific gun does not mean all will exhibit the problem. In the interest of proper testing may I suggest a sample of 3 guns be sent to the each of us. We might as well do some other testing whilst in our possessions...this might take years... :D

this might take years... Well ... didn't wanna frighten the guy .... but .......... seein as you put it like that!!!:p :D :D

Hey, I'm not getting younger myself. I have bifocals, so this would allow , in my case, to see if next script makes any difference. Besides your older IIRC dunno what your excuse is...I got mine...:)

So Wild is gonna get glasses and install Ashleys on front only...and forget about us.:(

Don't make me drive up there...Tueller drills...we'll do them

Humm...I have to go through TN, KY ( last time OH), could go further east WV then PA...my permits legal in all ( except OH - naturally-thats why I'd go more east)

Wild is complaining about sights on a 1911...heck I didn't see the toll booth...ever stood a truck on its nose? What numbskull puts a toll booth in the middle of nowhere in KY...with them 85 mph limits I need more warning...Or was that TN...I dunno...I was coming back non-stop, all 980 mi.

LOL ....... :D There's always air travel (yeah I know, that sux too!).

''Avoid OH'' ... yeah me too, but not to extent I'll go to to avoid MD!! Found that if I head north and west .. can enter WV from ''top end'' and then head South -- thus avoiding the dreaded MD!!

We'll work out a plan .. no sweat . and even now Wild has no idea what we are planning!!:D

Wild can't see anyway...we'll just bill him. :)

Dave Mc is in MD...gotta meet the man.
That food in WV I gotta have again...and I was "in a hurry" so maybe next time not traveling wee hours and can see more sights and meet more people.

Gave up flying...besides my passport expired...way things going , gonna need one to travel the contenential US...soon...

Relativity.
Well....relativity and a wee bit of age.

Betcha ifffen one were to exclusively shoot a genuine 11 or 11A1 for a month....the sights would seem better and bigger. And they don't hang up on things.

We been spoiled with the big n wide sights of today.

As I fondle one of my 19th century top breaks with a bloody used razor blade chip for a front sight. Makes the 1911 sights look pretty good. :)

Noted that about dad's 1919 vintage Government model.

Of course, I have no such problem with my 1917 Colt revolver, plenty of front sight there.

Ahmm...re1973 and P95Carry I'll split the difference. Living in NC it is about halfway for both of you and I'll provide the grill and the NY strips for a messily fee of a couple of rounds through it also. Seeing as how I wear contacts this give us a chance to see if contacts help or hinder. (Putting on best used car salesman smile) So gentleman do we have a deal??

alright, re1973, P95, and Billy Sparks, y'all just bring the grill and the steaks with ya to Tennessee and I'll whip up a gourmet meal fit for finishing off a day at the range. And I have 20/20 vision, we need to have a widely varied test group in order to do a proper study.

P95Carry
November 10, 2003, 12:20 PM
Well OEF_VET ..... sounds to me like we have a good ''test program'' in the makings here!:p

I reckon that with the triangulation of TN, NC and me in PA .. we go for middle and meet up even in South WV ... sure we can find someone there to host the excercise! Mind you ... I ain't averse to a run down to TN, come to think on it!

Still an awful long way for re1973 to come tho! :p

Hey . one prob tho ..... we still gotta get the piece sent down!
