robhof December 1, 2009, 05:08 PM Any one know where I can find a crane for an Armi San Marco Baby Dragoon or a gunsmith that can repair one. I sent it to a smith that stated the crane was wrong and he couldn't get a replacement. I got it cheap on an auction and now I know why. Any help would be asppreciated.

mykeal December 1, 2009, 05:13 PM What's a crane?
BHP FAN December 1, 2009, 05:57 PM I think the smith may be mistaken. Have you any pictures?
sundance44s December 1, 2009, 06:05 PM I would bet a crane would be a hand / paw to some .
After all isn`t a crane used to lift things ?
BHP FAN December 1, 2009, 07:19 PM on a double action it's the part that supports the cylinder,so I'm sorta at a loss, here.
robhof December 1, 2009, 08:12 PM I had my DW in the shop at the same time. The part is the bolt; the cylinder doesn't lock up completely when cocked, a light push will push the cylinder off battery and the fully cocked position isn't all the way back. The hammer pulled all the way back will push the cylinder past battery. I thought the hand was too long, but the smith said the hand wasn't the problem. I'll try to get pic's when I pick up my gun from the shop.
mykeal December 1, 2009, 10:01 PM More likely the trigger/bolt spring is broken or worn. Bolts on these rarely break. The bolt head could be worn down. Replacement is the only option in either case. It's easy to tell, so the gunsmith's advice is very likely correct. Surprised he doesn't know about VTI Gun Parts, or Dixie Gun Works.

The bolt is part no. 12 on the diagram; the trigger/bolt spring is part no. 19.
madcratebuilder December 1, 2009, 10:16 PM ASM parts are hard to find, but you may be able to fit Uberti parts from a similar revolver.
robhof December 1, 2009, 10:36 PM Thanks guys, VTI looks like the answer.
