Entitlement?

I seem to be missing some controls...like quoting the previous poster. And when I post it doesn't automatically subscribe me to the thread. I have to do both manually.
Am I missing something? I've checked the UCP, and not found anything that would allow even the subscription to be automated.

I believe I have the same issue with quoting a previous post. However, I'm able to work around it by right clicking the Quote button and selecting 'open link in new tab' (On older browsers, 'open link in new window' should also work). This opens a window to the advanced reply options, and I can copy and paste the quoted block from several such windows into one if I want to quote multiple posters.

quoted text [/quote*]
Copy/paste between those codes, (but leave out the asterixes), and you get a quotebox. If you want to credit the quote, the first one should be
then copy paste, then place the "close quote" code as above [/quote*] (without the asterix)... (if the * wasn't there, you wouldn't see the code, but would have created the quotebox... like this same thing between the codes, asterixes removed):
quoted text
then copy paste, then place the "close quote" code as above

wrs840 pretty much covered the how-to-quote problem. The reasons why the button you may be familiar with on other websites is missing is explained in this sticky thread: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=185188
Concerning the subscription issue, not subscribing to a thread you have posted in is the default. You can readily change that by opening your "User CP" (CP stands for control panel). Select "Edit Options" and under "Messaging & Notification" change the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" to the one of your choice, and save.

Hi - yes, UCP = User CP. Mod shorthand, sorry.
Thanks for the tip on the Edit Options. I knew it had to be there, somewhere. I've used this software before, and know how wonderful it is.

Okay Mal, have I got something 'miss set' that counts posts? I seem to be frozen at 5!

Posts in the Trading Post forums and this forum (Tech Support) do not get added to your post total, only posts that contribute to the main forums do.
