I've heard lots of good things about the Swift scopes and I was curious if anyone here has used them and what are they comparable to? I've always been dissatisfied with tasco weaver simmons and bushnell. And always satisfied with leupold redfield and bausch & lomb so can someone compare the swift to one of those? Also has anyone seen the bushnell elite 3200 and 4200's? If so are they as clear as the bausch & lomb elite 3000 and 4000? Thx. :D

"...bausch & lomb..." Seems to me they own Bushnell. Not that it matters. They do make other optical equipment though. Like microscopes.

A couple of years back,. I bought a Swift 4 x 12 and put
it on a Ruger M77 in 25-06. The Swift is as bright as my Leupolds
even in VERY Early morning, and at dusk. I would not
hesitate to buy another.

i have a swift on one my rifles (don't recall exact model... it is a high magnification model w/ ao).

clarity... not bad considering the price. it is not a leupold, and don't kid yourself into thinking it is, but it ain't bad. you will notice that at extended ranges the resolution is really bad, and the ao is useless at all ranges.

eye-relief is ok. i would not stick it on a hard-kicker though.

repeatability/tracking... this is where it lacks the most... if you aren't one to spin knobs, then it will suffice.

overall, i would say it is a good buy for the money, but if you are into nice glass, then this one rates a 'don't buy'. i do a lot of experimenting w/ rifles, scopes, etc, and i picked this scope up just to see if it was as good as i've read on the net. it isn't, but you could do far worse.

when i first bought it (spring this year), i took it to the range, and put it head-to-head against my vari-x3, a vari-x2, a vx-2, a really cheap bushnell, and a tasco. the magnification is different than leupold's. i think a 15x on the swift was roughly equivalent to 12x on the leupold. it was not as bright and clear as any of the leupolds i tested it against, but it did better in all aspects than the tasco or bushnell. i would say it probably rates very close to a vx-1.

Yea I have about 5 leupolds they are just too high!!! you get what you pay for though. Thanks for the comments I don't think i'll try the swift after all gonna stick to my bausch & lombs i think. Also has anyone compared the bushnell elites to the bausch & lomb? I hear they are the same thing but i dunno. Never really trusted bushnells a lot.

I was a Leupold fan before, but after knocking my rifle* off the rest at the range (it hit the ground hard enough to crack the forend at the tip and scratch the muzzle on both sides), I absolutely love them. The POI did not shift a bit that I could tell and it apparently suffered no damage itself since it still holds zero some 150 rounds later.

I use a Leupold VX-I 2-7x33 and Leupold mounts. I'll never use anything else.

*I repaired the gun and bedded it, now it shoots even better :)

Consider Sightron. They are high quality and often less spendy than Leupold. I have a tactical 4X14X42 on my 700BDL 308 and it does it all very well.

November 11, 2003, 03:16 AM the cheapest scope you can.

Everytime you get to the range, do a happy little "cheap scope dance" and proclaim loudly that your BSA will kick Leupold butt! Then, when everyone looks at you funny, start kissing your scope and fondling it in a suggestive manner.

People will like you if you do this. Trust me.

lol funny you said bsa :) Yesterday I went on midway they are selling the 3x9x50 for 35 bucks normally is 60 figured if it's not too great I can always put it on an old .22 or take it to the gun show ;) I'd really like to save up for a zeiss though... never had one and actually i've never even looked through one but heard they are awesome.
