What would you pay for these two guns?

Kahr CW40 with 100 rounds of WWB and a Galco Yaqui Slide holster and a Ruger LCP with 100 rounds of WWB. Low round count on both. Is $700 too much for both? Yes/No what would you offer?

I'm assuming you're trying to sell both of these firearms...

Since the LCP retails new for about $270, I'd suggest $200 is a reasonable asking price.
The Kahr retails for about $420 new, I'd suggest $300-$325 is reasonable.
So, you're looking at $500-$525 for both firearms. Your $700 suggestion is more then retail prices for new guns...do an internet search and see what they're really selling for when new (MSRP is frequently quite a bit higher then retail prices).
Those are asking prices. You may get them from a motivated buyer or you may have to drop the prices in order to sell the guns.
The ammo is just incentive for a buyer. WWB ammo is not the high priced ammo most folks use for self defense, so it doesn't have a lot of value.

Actually bought both (with ammo and holster) for $540 without doing any research and wanted to make sure I wasn't too big a numbskull. Thanks

The LCP around here sells for its MSRP, which is 330 - haven't seen a used one around here yet, but closeby, one sold for new prices due to rarity

Where does the LCP retail for $270?, thats cheaper than wholesale in the Palm Beaches. I could use about a dozen are so for next weekend. Wholesale in my area is around $320 and retail runs from $350 to $400.

I think you own a pawn shop, or you are a used car salesman.

I have never seen a new LCP for under $299, and at that price they do not last. Used? They are simply not for sale, and if they are, they are getting near new price for them. $200 will not even get you a POS P3AT (I know, I have owned two.)

The Kahr may go for $425-ish new if you are shopping in the right place. Again, I have seen exactly one used one for sale at a local gun show. Asking $350, I thought about it for five minutes and it was long gone.

OP, you did fine.

And now I know how much credibility to attach to Glockman17366's future posts.

He is right. I have bought two LCP's in the last year and the first one was $275 and the second $265. The second was bought about 3-4 months ago. I have seen idiots on the internet trying to, and probably suceeding at, getting twice that for a used one. I just went to gunbroker and they can be had for $250-$300 all day long. Gunbroker is a great resource for estimating prices guys, use it.

To chuckusaret and orionengnr:

I paid $270 for a new LCP in south central Pennsylvania. That was in February, 2009.

Now, orionengnr, that was a really stupid thing to post!

It seems to me price depends on region. Here in Florida, all the LCP's I or my brother have seen are ~$340 or more. It kills me when people dismiss prices other people give when they live in totally different markets.

Yes, Ruger just had placed two handguns on recall and was selling recalled (SN 370XXX and lower) LCP's for $265 I believe. I have a seen LCP's on sale at Gander Mountain this month for $299 plus tax, background check and transfer fee

I also suggest you attempt to purchase a NIB LCP from Gun Broker for under $300, I guarantee you won't be the high bidder. I know, I have done at least a hundred buys on gun broker in the last year or so from their sellers.

I agree that prices are different in different areas.
Here in CT at Hoffman's guns, NIB LCPs are $269

The highest price Hoffman had them at was $289 when they first came out.
Had a sale once for $249.

Look them up on line, they have pretty good prices for around here.

I bet if you took the average US retail price on the LCP, you'd come out closer to $299. The Kahr would probably go for a bit over $400 or so. I'd buy both of those guns new for $700. I wouldn't jump for joy but it would be a fair price. I think you did well with the extras for $540. The 200 rounds of ammo (especially the .380 since it's a pain to find) and the holster which is worth around $40 or so new makes it a good deal in the end...no doubt.

Heck I paid $275 for a very slightly used one at a local (one owner) gun shop and was glad to pay it. The big chain store sells them for $330 new! I was happy to save $55 and support the little guy. As far as I could tell the LCP I bought had barely been shot. I'm happy with it. LM

Just the other day I saw an LCP at the local funshop for $247 NIB...

If you paid $540 why did you ask if $700 was too much?
