Greetings All,

Here are some photos I shot this weekend at the Oak Tree Gun Club fun shoot. Oak Tree is located just north of Los Angeles. The pro shop is down in a valley, but the SC course runs along a ridge. You park down at the bottom, and ride a "mule" to the top.

Click on the link, then Oak Tree. You can click on a picture to make it larger.

wsr_racer,

Thanks for the heads up on Oaktree, (www.oaktreegunclub.com). Can you compare the quality of this shotgun park with that of Triple B in So El Monte? Thanks.

Thanks for the invite. I had a great time and I'm still laughing about Mike's jokes!!! The day was great and so was the lunch. I really need to change my name from ClaybusterBrad because shooting a 55 was a crying shame. Maybe throwing my shotgun down the side of a hill might have worked! ;) It was still a lot of fun. I'd like to take you up on your offer and come down south for a day of shooting. The weather up here affects my scores too much! Thanks again and I hope to hook up with you guys again. It was a riot!!!

This is starting to "tick" me off. It's the same thing as yesterday. The link works in the morning, then dies. I've emailed Yahoo again, so we'll see.

As I understand it, Yahoo allows a certain megabytes download per day for each user. You just maxed out.

Yahoo is not the best way to show people your photos.

Thanks for the info. Can you suggest another site?

One of the free website service would be a good place, like tripod or geocities...I'm sure there are others.

Wow! looks like a great course. Just became one of my to do courses.

What's the difficulty level?

Are there steel plates for rifles, too?

Skunkabilly,

Just spoke with Oak Tree about what handgun calibers are allowed at the pistol range. Their answer: No Magnums or Hollow Points and no Blazer or Wolfe ammo. The former is banned because it destroys the steel targets; The latter because the range reloads their brass and doesn't want any steel or aluminum casings getting mixed in with the rest.

By extension, I would assume that most rifle ammo would be too destructive on their single range.

The rifle range is on the way. from what I've heard, it needs to get a few permits or insurance. The sporting clays course is nice with wonderful views.

OK, here's the new link. This one works, I swear.

As for the difficulty, it's a medium to hard course. A master class shooter shot a 90 last week. Most scores for good shooters are in the 70 to 80 range.

Here's the link to Oak Tree

I like it better than Triple B. TB is a flat course with lots of tree, OT has HUGE elevation changes and beautiful views. Either one is fun.
