I just got a Leupold scope that is marked M8-4x Compact, this isn't a rimfire scope is it? I looked around the Leupold site but didn't see this same scope.

The M8 line has been discontinued.

If it says M8 4x EER on it, it is a pistol scope.
If it says IER it is a Scout scope.

EER = Extended Eye Relief.
IER = Intermediate Eye Relief.

There were other M8's that were just compact high-power rifle scopes.

None of them were rim-fire scopes.
