I am looking at buying one of the romanian WASR-10 ak clones, but most of the ones I've looked at don't have the side mount plate for mounting optics or rails or whatever. I've found several replacement plates for sale online (http://www.thecountryshed.com/ak47_scope_mounts.htm). How difficult is it to install?

For one thing, all standard WASRs have the side rails.

I don't think the WASR underfolder does, as the stock won't fold with it in place.

On another note, if you buy from a reputable dealer, these plates come with rivets/screws and instructions (if on the very off chance your WASR doesn't have a rail on it). They are pretty easy to install, if you're mechanically inclined.
