I know how to do it, but it takes a concerted effort on our part.

Everytime you buy a gun similar to an HK (Sig pistol, AR, AK, etc.), simply fax or mail a copy of the receipt to H&K's American Corporate headquarters and inform them that this sale was lost to their competitors because they don't produce weapons for the american consumer. If they wish to get some of your money, they'll start producing civilian G-36's, HK-9x guns for Americans.

Do this, and I believe H&K would give a hard look at satisfying the American consumer (the most-spend happy people on earth). Remember, they're Germans, they're not used the rabid, gun-buying nuts we have here.

I've got 2 receipts for new Bushmasters that are on their way.

Actually, it would be better to let them know RIGHT NOW that we're buying guns they should be producing (or planning to). They are not going to make civy guns, so why not let them know they ought to?? Wouldn't it be great if they realized they should tool up to build some guns for us?

Oh well, so much for a concerted effort.

It's a well known fact (at least amongst Hkpro aficionados) that the good folks in Sterling, Virginia (and Oberndorf, Germany for that matter) regularly frequent certain *ahem* HK-related gun forums..

I'd like to see what the new ownership's policy will be re: civilian gun sales & the product line they intend to the civilian market. One part of me is wondering why would HK care about the civilian market (they haven't in the past) while the other side is telling me that the new US plant is at least partially geared to broaden the civilian market. We shall soon see!

Well, it doesn't matter if HK knows we want 36's and 91's, does it? If it did, they would have announced the GA plant would be making them for us already. What matters to every company is $$, hence my plan.

I don't want them to think we're going to wait like puppies to be fed. I want them to think - strike that - to KNOW that we will spend our money gratuitously and they're not getting any of it with their "police and military only" BS.

And, if they didn't listen after a concerted campaign of sending them receipts, then I'd say they got what they deserved (nothing).

And, what if they get the contract from the Feds to manufacture the XM8 (which is reportedly worth over 1 BILLION Dollars), then where does that leave them?

Are they still left with, "nothing"? ;)

Jeesh guy. Go crap in someone else's cereal bowl, will ya? If we don't push H&K to make their designs available, we'll be where we're at now - with no new guns. Duh. If we do and they don't listen? We're no worse off, are we? Do you have a point?

If they get the fed contracts, fine they'll make their money.....but (and pay attention here cause this is very complicated) if they get thousands of receipts for many thousands of dollars from gun owners who would have spent their money at H&K and didn't, then perhaps they'll sing a different tune and introduce a gun or two for us peons. Isn't that what we want? Don't you think a company would see all that money they missed and decide to just retool a part or two and claim some of it? There's only one way to find out, as I see it.

There's only one thing that's for certain, the one thing I can surely bank on, is plenty of people like yourself who will do nothing & ridicule those of us who do. Rock on.

If you liked HK stuff. And I wouldn't hold my breath to see the XM8 be the new DOD-issue standard. ;)
