Greetings, Is there anything special about removing the original stock from a 11-87 Premier? I can see what looks like a slotted screw head with a flashlight. Is a special tool required? I tried the unscrew it with a large screwdriver, but it seems very tight. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I slotted bit that fits on the end of a long 1/4" socket ratchet extension should do it.

You might try tapping the screwdriver while pressure is exerted on the "screw". It is really more like a cap. Gentle taps from a light hammer, I like to use an old hammer handle.
Just make certain the driver fits the slot or you will end up with a buggered screw slot.
