1964 Rem. 870 20 ga. barrel question

I have taken possession of a Remington 870 Wingmaster in 20 ga. that was built in 1964. This is when they were still building them on 12 ga. frames, so barrels are at a premium. Corson's has some for $300, which is a bit steep for me.

Does anyone know if there may be some available elsewhere for a little less? This gun is chambered for 2 3/4" shells, and has a full choke barrel on it.

here http://www.e-gunparts.com/ or here http://www.barrelexchange.com/srch_1.cfm?PageNum_bl=2&manuf=Remington&ga=12+ga.&Submit=Search

I have the same problem. I wanted a shorter barrel for son to learn to shoot with and found it was cheaper to just get him an 870 express youth, especialy since the rebates from Remington and the store brought the price down to around 220 and one of these barrels is $300.

I am afraid whenever those barrels show up, if they are in good shape they go dear. The standard weight 1100 20s are even worse, in that those guns are still somewhat more in demand by target shooters. They'll snap up a plain barrel and get a rib put on it in a heartbeat.

I forgot all about e-gunparts! I was afraid they'd be expensive, though. My wife may like to take up skeet shooting if she can use a 20 instead of a 12 ga., so I thought this would be the way to go. Not so much anymore.

This is a great gun in excellent condition, but I can't see spending that much on a barrel. Looks like it'll stay in the safe until I somehow get invited on a pheasant hunt, which it is perfect for.

Thanks for the help - maybe Santa will bring some cash and I can make a decision!
