Remington's 2X4 SD load, good idea?
There have been lots of posts about birdshot being a bad idea for SD and most make sense to me.
So why would a repitable company like Remington market it as a viable option for SD?
(I am personally a fan of #4 buck for SD roll)

Well, a 2X4 certainly makes a good weapon, although it is a little difficult to hold securely, both because of its shape and the possibility of splinters. :neener:

It seems that's a mixed load of No.2s and No. 4s which would be quite a bit better than just No. 4s.
Some noted "experts" do say No. 4s are a good balance between close-range effectiveness and lessened building material penetration risks.
Of course why they sell it, is because they think enough folks will believe that and buy them.
I mean, look at the fact that they're making plenty of home defense shotguns with factory-installed breecher's standoffs, and that's WAAAY stupider than a duplex shotshell load.
