How could I best (cosmetically) fill the front sight screw hole on my KMK512 Ruger MkII .22 pistol. It's stainless.

I have mounted a red dot sight, and would like to remove the front sight to streamline the barrel (and to keep the hooked front sight blade from snagging on things).

What have any of you guys who may have addressed this problem done?

Thanks in advance!

Brownells makes stainless steel 'Positive Stop' plug screws. They aren't cheap but look great. Provided the hole is tapped 6-48.

Using one of these, you can go back to OEM and not effect the value of your investment... Nice gun, by the way...

If you are sure you never want to use it again, you could fill it with silver solder and polish off the top surface. Should look pretty good. I left my stock sights on my slabside MkII even after I put a dot on it.
