I'm not 100% sure of the technical terms, but I try to explain. The 'lever' you have to push up when inserting shells into the tube doesn't move unless you first push in the bolt release...

This makes loading slow (particularly for my wife). Is it possible (and more importantly advisable) to disconnect that 'feature'? I'm fairly certain it can be done, but just wanted to get thoughts on this.

Brownells has an "1100 Easyloader" that replaces the entire lifter and button, so you just press in on the entire plate to release the bolt. Stock #260-100-000, for $29.95. Hope this helps.

I have an easyloader on my 1100 slug gun. It replaces the action release button but not the lifter. It does also serve as a chute into the magazine. It makes magazine loading easier, but it protrudes enough and has enough leverage to trip the action release very easily. Important only if you (she) shoots skeet or trap and has to stand around with gun open a lot.

I don't know of a free lifter modification to an 1100, but I have not been active in 3-gun for a good while. If anybody knows how to do it, a 3-gunner will.

Thanks, sounds like it's cheap enough to get an easy loader, I think that'll help my wife with releasing the bolt as well. We've got several folks in our club that shoot 1100's, just never got around to asking..
