what mag extension for my 870?

Having trouble deciding between the Nordic components +1, or the Scatter gun +1. They are virtually identical in price... so which one do you think is better?

Scattergun tech is great to deal with.

scattergun tech or Choate. I can personally vouch for Choate quality. but scattergun tech is what the police magnums come with I believe.

+1 is not an option on a Remington Factory Model. The only extensions on an 870 factory model is a Remington +2 or a Remington +3 OEM extension.

No first-hand experience with Nordic or Scattergun, but Choate does make a fine extension tube that I can vouch for.

Well I have had an Left Hand 870 Wingmaster since 1985
I have a smooth bore and bird barrel
With the 20 in smooth bore RS barrel I have a choate extension 7 rnds that is the same age as the gun and is perfect.
I'm using a Brownells follower
I also added the Brownells Mepolite Night sites for the remington barrel.

I was originally leaning towards the SG extension but had heard on another board, from a poster claiming to be some sort of instructor, that Scatterguns tube extensions are "silver soldered" together, and that they "go flying" under heavy use.

Guess he was full of hot air.
