I am considering this scope for my Armory USA AK. I have a Texas Weapon Systems Dog Leg mount on order, and I am looking for a high quality illuminated optic for spotlighting pigs as well as just having a versitile bug-out gun.

Any experience with this scope? I have handled one & the optics are clear & bright, and it seems very well made.

I would welcome any advice on recent Weaver scopes in general. They are not cheap, and they seem very well made. Any advice before I dive in?

You're out of luck. Natchez had these on sale awhile ago at significantly reduced prices. None left now and I think Weaver has discontinued them and brought out a new line.

I noticed a few other dealers had them at full retail a few weeks ago but I haven't checked recently.

I bought a couple, wish I had bought more. Ranks right up there with the very best of Japanese optics. I suspect that Weaver (or the holding company that owned them at the time) simply couldn't sell them and still make a reasonable margin because they were expensive to make as are all superior optical instruments.

I saw one at a little hole in the wall gun shop in Central Texas for $259.00. That is roughly half retail; I am making a drive up this weekend to see if it is still there after 2 weeks. I can't see much demand for it in that little town; I am keeping my fingers crossed!!
