Will these work for basic fun shooting?
A 3-4" group or so at 50 yards is better than with many Mosin Nagant 44s, therefore, would this be likely with such .308 bullets?
My first (ever) reloading kit is being delivered by the 442nd "Rudolph" Tactical Airlift Squadron, North Pole AFB.

Those bullets will be fine. I have loaded down to 125 and up to 180. New brass? If not trim to length. Which powder? IMR 4064 and H 4895 good choices. Seat Primers "well". Depending on the rifle and the operator well under 3" at 50 should be expected. Be CAREFUL.

Yes, the Garand will stabalize the 147 Gr. I would ask in the reloading forum if there are any recipes for a 150 Gr bullet or your exact bullet. Pressure curve is a problem so stick with medium burning powders.

My Garand shoots 144gr FMJBT bullets just fine.

I hope so, I just bought a bunch of 147gr FMJBT bullets from Hi-Tech ammo (along with some LC .30-06 military brass) to shoot in my new-to-me Garand. Also found some #34 primers and AA 2520 at Powder Valley, so I should be set.
