"Holster" for shotgun

Hello,
In one of the Romancing the Stone movies, Michael Douglas carried a pump shotgun in kind of a holster, across his back. It looked a lot like a rifle scabbard that John Wayne would have used. (Gee, I must watch an awful lot of movies!)
Has anyone seen anything like this, or is it just move-stuff? It looked kind of neat. There was nothing attached to the shotgun when it was in his hands, and the scabbard/holster widget couldn't slide off his shoulder.
Regards,
Hammerhead

I think Douglas had an ithaca (I seem to remember it bottom ejecting) in a scabbard mounted to his backpack. Most of the western gun leather shops make or stock these. Some cowboy shooters like to use them on their gun carts, etc. Here is a link to El Paso Saddlery. (https://secure.aaa-servers.com/epsaddlery.com/shopping/?id=1) They make one.

Keep in mind that the movie gun was not a legal firearm . As I recall the barrel was cut just foward of the magazine (likely in the 14 " range). My recall is that it was a cut down Hi-Standard 200 pump with a vent rib . The scabbard was attached as mentioned to his backpack. Just movie stuff . :D

You may want to check out Nimrod Pack Systems LLC-very pricey. Thought I would try to work up one of my own.

In the movie "Aliens" the marine Hicks has such a scarab for his shotgun. In "Army of Darkness" Ash does as well.
