I'm not a Glock person, but I wonder if someone can briefly tell me what the differences are between the first Glock 22 and the 3rd generation?

The first 22 was a 2nd GEN. The difference is the 3rd GEN has an accessory rail, finger grooves and thumb rests.

Series 1 guns only have 2 pins thru the frame. No rails,No finger grooves

Series 2 guns are 3 pin. No rails and very limited finger groove models

Series 3 guns have the finger grooves. Rails and 3 pins.

There are different trigger options but they are not generation specific.
