Saw a 1923 production Colt Model 1911 Commercial.

The Barrel, where visible through the ejector port, reads " COLT 45 Auto NM"

Is this right???

Is this some later Barrel? Or?

I thought the Barrels were merely in the white and polished there, and, had no stamped caliber designation.

Similarly...should the correct Magazine have any Stamping-info on the Base?

Anyone?

Thanks...

I don't know such minutae, but NM like National Match?
I suspect somebody replaced or upgraded the barrel at some time or another.

That's a National Match replacement barrel and is not original to the gun.
