What Mythological Creature Would You Hunt??

As the Title says: What Monster/creature of myth would you want to track down and kill? Why? What the heck would you use?
Personally, I'd hunt that Bloody bunyip. God, i hate those things, as a kid my father used to scare the life outa me with stories and pranks involving that horrible Aussie creature!:cuss:
For those who don't know what it is? its a huge dragon Capybura with flaming red eyes and snaggle teeth. Lives in swamps, and eats children.
For that beast, i would use nothing less than a bloody 700 nitro express.

Glad you're so happy about the pending lock.
I would certainly hunt the dreaded Jack-a-lope. They often contract rabies; tear up farmland even worse than hogs; and have been known to hunt cattle by the pack. :D
Oh yeah, and they make a cool mount, too. LOL!

Can you imagine the envy of all your friends when they see your shoulder mount of a genuine dragon?
Put a propane cannon in his mouth for extra fun!

The sheep with the golden fleece. I wouldn't kill it though I would just tranq it and shear it frequently to stockpile gold. ;)

hunting this would require time travel, so I declare it fair game in this thread: The Wooly Mammoth. Makes a piker out of the largest African elephant. Would use .458 Win Mag, or .458 Lott, or mebbe a traditional double rifle in .600 Nitro Express.

Actually they're not mythical. We saw one in Montana. But the guns were all put away by then.:D
Oh wait... Mythological...

Prehistoric carnivores... large and small.
T-Rex, Veloceraptors, Saber Tooth Tigers... even the 60-pound carnivores were probably tough.
That would be pretty sporting, presuming you'd be hunting them in their own time and place.

Omg....I would totally hunt a bloody jabberwock. Or a bandersnatch, due to the fact that that very poem is one of my Favs. I've never seen the old Dominoes character though.

Bigfoot....I would use my Garand an see how many rounds it would take to bring him down. Then sell the story to make a movie, an have it taxidermied an sell on ebay for around 4.9 million $......then I could hunt the rest of my life an not worry about a job.

I used to love the movie "monster squad" when I was a kid, so anything Vampire, Werewolf or Zombie would be a given.
From there, a dragon, but I agree, not one of the nice talking ones, but rather one of the "reign of fire" types.
Then, the cyclops, cracken etc would be fun to bag.
Lastly, the "Haggis". It's a small Scottish animal with one set of legs longer than the other so that it can stand on the steep Scottish Highlands without falling over.

Love to hunt Nessie, and to make things fair would use nothing but my bare hands! LOL!
But seriously, a dangerous game hunt of pre-historic preds, such as the saber tooth cat, the short faced bear, and the like, along with wooly mammoth, wooly rino, giant sloth, and some of those giant deer. I would want something with some pep. maybe a semi barrett with a shock stock, and a 26in barrel. Wouldn't be that fun to shoot, but would be nice to have both the "knock down power" and the quick second, third, etc. shot JIC.

Grendel, in the novel Beowulf.
The question is to hunt him with the .50 Beowulf, or the 6.5 Grendel.

About the Burger King dude, as great-grandpa once said, there's just some things that need killin'.

To all the Unicorn hunters,
In one of his notebooks Leonardo da Vinci wrote:
The unicorn, through its intemperance and not knowing how to control itself, for the love it bears to fair maidens (virgins) forgets its ferocity and wildness; and laying aside all fear it will go up to a seated damsel and go to sleep in her lap, and thus the hunters take it.
I think I would go with a Narwhal... easier to find than a virgin.

I'm Greek so I'll leave most of those mythological figures alone, but the Japanese Kappa. . .those little bitches need to get offed. They lure you to a riverside, drag you half into the water and suck your entrails out of your anu*. Yeah, they need to get put down quick, fast and in a hurry. My weapon of choice, an NTW-20mm sniper rifle http://www.rankopedia.com/CandidatePix/3438.gif
Because I'm not getting anywhere near something that will suck my entrails out of my a*us.
