OK....my SP101 is awesome....but for some reason I can't get the hankering for a mini Glock out of my head.........I'm thinking 10 rounds of 9mm+p is pretty good...plus another 10 back up....I have complete faith in my SP(loaded w/ 38+p+ 110gr.)but 20 rounds is alot of firepower....I wish I had an extra $500,,,,then I could have both and carry either.....I guess I'll start saving up for a little Glock...............what do you think???:cool:

Move to a state that has CCW and doesn't put the make/model/caliber of the gun on your CCW that you are "allowed" to carry.

I could never understand this requirement, if you know how to fire and hit with one, what makes it a difference for another?

CCW in GA, ID, OR = You can shoot it, you can carry it, no questions asked.

You can't go wrong with a Glock 26 for CCW. I use trijicon night sights, 8lbs trigger spring, fobus paddle,and grip extensions on the magazines. It is an accurate,reliable,& durable pistol. I use Golddots and RangerT in my G-26.
I think you will be happy with a mini-glock.

I wouldn't sell what you've got (selling good guns is always a bad idea), but I will say that the Glock 26 is a very good gun for CCW, it's what I carry. And remember, you don't just have 10 rounds backup if you have to reload, the Glock 26 can take the magazines of it's bigger brothers, so you can have 17 rounds backup if you wish (yes, I know it can take the 33 round mags too, but they are a bit large for concealed carry). Plus, the Glock 26 is very light, possibly lighter than what you're carrying now, but easy to shoot. It doesn't have the "lighter gun, beast to shoot" characteristic that many lighter guns have.

Yeah I shot a buddy's once at IDPA and it didn't seem to beat me up at all....I never thought I'd trust my life to plastic auto loader....but my G17 has changed all that...it's accurate and 100% reliable......I will keep my SP101 though but it's good to have a choice for CCW.
Manwithoutahome.....I can use any of my guns as CCW...in NY state ..I have an unresticted concealed carry permit.:cool:

I think the revolver conceals more easily. While it's wider at its widest part (the cylinder), the grips and muzzle are CONSIDERABLY thinner than the G26 (had one). Hard to argue that 5 +P .38's are better than 10 9mm's, it's easy to accept that the 5 .38's are enough.

Get the mini-Glock and shoot some matches with it to see how you react with it under a little bit of stress, if you can run it with confidence, carry it :cool:

I just went from a small 9MM (an XD) to a big bore snubby in .44 Special. 5 shots from it, BTW. It's larger than the XD was by a good margin, but it's still just as easy to conceal for some reason.
You want to talk about confidence building? Just put a .44 Special round right next to a 9MM:

I also carry a G26. It's the second of my battery of CCWs. I have complete confidence in it and my ability to put it's contents on target. If you want one, you can't go wrong, IMO.

manwithoutahome, while NYS does list your pistols on your license, you can carry any of them. When TonyB talks of "changing" his CCW, it's his decision to make.

I was up for .41 Magnum, .44 Special, or .45LC... the first offer was for the .44Special and that will work just fine. For an EDC-CCW I think .44 Special is probably ideal. Especially out of a 3 inch barrel... I'm wanting a 3 or 4 inch .45LC as well, and the .41 in a 4 inch version.
This 696 was just the first to come my way and it's fine. Worked out better for me in fact because this makes for a better CCW for me. I REALLY like the way the 696 looks and feels. Accurate, compact, beefy... Lots of confidence... feels great in the hands. Very Ogrish handgun, even if it is stainless. Still wanting wood grips for it, but the factory black rubber works just fine... but that's just a looks thing.

One reason I wanted a bigger caliber - I have a mountain lion that prowles my area... got as close as 50 yards once... Should it get frisky, I was not wanting to deal with it armed with a 9MM. If I have to put it away, I want to put it down firmly and ultimately more humanely. My dog Ranger is good Early Warning Radar for big cat, so I'm not worried. Actually, I haven't seen the cat (or cat signs) for about a week now. Maybe it moved on or a farmer scoped it.

Nevada requires you to qualify with each gun you intend to carry, although there is no limit to the total number of guns you can put on the permit.

About a year ago, I went the OTHER way--I sold my G26 and started carrying an SP-101 in .357. Both are about the same as far as weight/size factors. I get a little more punch with .357 but fewer rounds. The main difference is you can shoot the revolver from within your pocket whereas the Glock becomes single shot if you try that. Honest evaluation after a year of carrying both--toss up. Pick the one you like best but I'd stay with the 101 if I were you. Get a Glock to play with or for "combat."

Good points all....If I did have to hit somebody w/ the actuall gun,I'm sure theSP would hurt more than a G26.(being steel and not Plastic).......5 rounds w/ a reload is prabably MORE than I'll ever need(in reality I've never even NEEDED those..I'll stick w/ the SP...Shot it this friday and reaized it was a GREAT gun....if I get attacked by 8 guys..I'm probably at an IDPA match:D

I would opt for the Glock 27. Why? My reasons are:
1) The recoil of the 40 S&W isn't bad in a G27
2) You can use G23 magazines with an A&G grip adapter.
3) You can buy a 357 Sig barrel and shhot that ammo which is a hoot!
4) You can buy a G26 barrel and magazines and have a G26.

What is a good CCW holster for the G26/27? My choices are an Alessi Hard Shell Talon, Milt Sparks Mirage belt slide, Kramer IWB, or Rosen Straightman.

I'm pretty sure this one isn't necessarily the case. I believe, at the very least, that you'd have to change out the extractor, as you'd be going from a .40 S&W case to a 9mm case.

I have been looking at the G26 for a CCW piece myself since I am moving to Nevada in about 5 days. I like glocks (Got two of them already) and I feel comfortable shooting the 9mm so it might be what I end up getting in the long run.

I have a 9mm Bar-Sto barrel for my G27 and it works like a charm. I did have a few bobbles until I switched to G26 magazines. Regards, Richard:D

You know i bought my Colt 357 Snubby as a carry gun...

Tried it inIDPA.. damn thing is really SLOW to re-load. Just not enough ROOM to make it work quickly.

Still its a beefy/robust piece and I know it hurls a rock heavier and faster than my 9mm.. but my 9mm still holds at least twice as many rounds.

Still haven't decided what I'll carry... the 9mm is what I shoot the most.

BTW George that's the Nyclad I've EVER seen.

This leaves me with possibly enough to deal with any homies runaway girly guy dredges up. Easier.:D
