Ive been needing a HD SG and my main goal was 12 gauge short barrel, collapsible or folding stock and high capacity.

They had these items on sale, and mainly the 500 only interested me since both 870's would require buying a separate stock.
870 HOME DEFENSE $280 after MIR of $30
870 EXPRESS TACTICAL $370 after MIR of $30
500 TACTICAL PERSUADER $369

Then i saw a 500 SPX used but like new, they were asking $299 and i talked them down a whopping $10 so its $289 lol

Most i see are $500 and up anywhere online especially the SPX model.

I love the gun but wouldnt mind an extended ammo tube, they make those for higher capacity on this gun?
Besides what i paid i think i did real well, but how good is the $369 price on the normal Persuader? if thats really low it tells me i did much better since this is a more expensive model.

Do they make tube extensions for higher capacity? and what about adding a laser pointer since its a HD gun? Since this has the upper sights that are wonderful i want to retain those,so i need a side of barrel or under barrel type.
How about a good Mossberg accessories site?

Walmart a good place for cheap range ammo? i know i see those 100 rounds bricks cheap.
For HD ammo 3" 00Buck my best bet?

no they don't make an extended tube. if you want more ammo you need a new barrel and tube. theres two ways to do that but neither is cheap. 6 is enough.

you got a pretty good deal, thats about the highest overall quality 500 there is even though its not really my thing.

3" if you want it, 2 3/4" is good enough. any cheap walmart ammo is good, but get lead over steel if you can.

Yes,i found that out about the no extension issues. No biggy 6 is fine,i may add a 4 shell holder to the rear stock as they are made for this gun.It may come with it in the box if it has one,i forgot to ask since its used.

What sold me was the sights, useless in a HD situation but will be great at the range.
Im hitting up Walmart tomorrow to burn some xmas cash and stock up on a few shells and ill get 2 3/4 for practice and 3" 00 for HD.

For practice should i look for the lowest numbered shot? say like 6 ok? From what ive seen the lower the shot number the higher the price.
So what do you guys practice with shot wise?

Speaking of that, is 00 Buck in 3" still the best HD round?
Recommendations? i know Hornady Tap looked good, but i do know i don't want none of those gimmick rounds.

youll have to try a bunch of brands to see what patterns the best.

3" was never the best home defense round, I don't think. stick to 2 3/4"

I have one. What I like about mine: Light weight but low recoil. Excellent sights. Very easy handling and light kicking for its size. Absolute blast to play/practice with.

I bought mine for ~$500, and don't regret it at all. You'll never regret buying yours for $289, not for half a second. Great price for a great gun.
