I have a really nice Colt Pocketlite .380 that I want to keep in perfect condition, so, I don't want to have to force anything.
When I field strip for cleaning, I can't remove the barrel from the slide. It moves very freely but I can't seem to move it back in the slide far enough to lift it out. Anyone know if this is normal? If not, how do I get the barrel out of the slide? Is further disassembly required to remove the barrel? I'm a clean freak so I really want to get that barrel out of the slide to clean things properly. The gun functions perfectly. Thanks for your help.

The barrel of my Mustang seemed just a touch long as well at first. Try a little pressure with an index finger at the muzzle tip on the barrel. Just that little extra pressure pops the barrel free every time. If this doesn't do the trick you may want to try an email to Colt .380 guru Doug McDougall.
