I've never even heard of this round till I saw a youtube video today of a pistol that fired this specific round. Does anyone have experience with this round? How would it hold up being shot out of a pistol for self-defense? Any information on this round would be appreciated!!!

Let me make a correction! It might not have been a .22 hornet. But it was basically a Knecked down .22 (pistol round). What is this specific round???

No auto pistols to my knowledge ever chambered .22 Hornet. It would be hard to imagine a worse cartridge shape to feed in an autoloading pistol action. Taurus did (at least in magazine pictures) make a .22 Hornet revolver, called a "Raging Hornet." Smith & Wesson once made the Model 53 revolver in .22 Remington Jet, a .357 Magnum case gradually tapered to .22 caliber. These are collector's items today.

It's called a .22 SLD (I believe) and supposedly it's a knecked down 10mm round with a .22 bullet. From the looks of it... that round is a beast.
