Editing posts

I wanted to edit my post in the for sale section and got a message that the 60 minute time frame had run out and that I could not edit my post.
WHY???
I had misprinted some things on there that I would like to change and might help sell my item better.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

It was decided to change the editing time window for those particular forums to a short time period to prevent anyone from changing the offer or terms of an offer much later (it was happening). It was felt that one hour was more than sufficient for the members to examine the post and make any necessary changes, correct typos, etc.
You can PM me or any moderator with the changes needed for your post. We will be glad to make them for you if the changes don't substantially change the original offering. I have already made the changes you indicated in the thread. Let me know if there are others.
Pricing changes, notice of partial sales or withdrawal of the offer should be done in follow-on posts.

Yes, as just said, just email us the new text for the post and a link that takes us directly to the post and we will edit for you.

Personally, I prefer to see modifications made via a follow-up post. I'm a little wary of making any materially significant changes to a post (price, what's being sold, condition, etc) for fear there's gonna be a conflict with someone who's already sent money...

Thanks for the quick replies. I had not looked at the original magazines that I had and found them not to be Beretta mags and wanted to change that. I did not want someone making an offer on something they did not want.
Thanks again.

I agree, Derek. Substantial changes should only be made in follow-up posts with one exception - changes can be made to the original post if the requested changes are made before any offers to buy or similar posts from other members are publicly posted. Any transactions that go on privately (via PM or email) are the responsibility of the individual parties.
It should be made very clear that our buy/sell/trade forums are simply a virtual bulletin board for the convenience of the members. We will not and we cannot get involved in the actual transactions or be responsible for the validity of any offerings in the forums.
