I need some sort of stand for a Lee Classic Cast. Something like what's pictured here:

Before I go make one out of 2x4 and plywood, does anyone know of a commercial source for a stand like this?

Why? Just bolt it to your bench. Unless you want to load standing! I never could figure out why someone would want to do that. I stand all day at work. When I load, I want to sit and relax!

I didn't see them on Dillon's site, and though I could probably contact them about it the bolt pattern probably doesn't match.

snuffy, some of us are "blessed" with desk jobs. I actually am bless indeed though to have a high desk at work, so standing is an option I often avail my self of. I am actually going to set the press at a height where I can press sitting or standing.

Check Midway, I think they have a blue stand similar to a bench grinder stand, but with a wider, more stable base.

I have one of the Lee Classic Cast presses, bolted to one of the Frankford Arsenal stands. I use it in the TV room for things that are safe to do while watching TV. The other side has a Lyman cast bullet lubricator/sizer. I bought another top which has a Star lubricator/sizer on it.

I intentionally made the legs on my bench a bit long, so I would not have to have anything like a Dillon 'strong mount' to raise my press. When I get old enough to mind standing, I'll get a adjustable drafting table stool to sit at.

Can I suggest you look around scrap yards for a short piece of big Wide Flange steel beam, and bolt that to your bench?

^Thanks for the inspiration! I finally found it. It's the "Dillon Strong Mount" and once I googled that the flood gates opened. Thanks guys!

I'm going to try to see if I can get a 8" I-beam piece from a scrap processing company in the area first, but at least I don't have to settle for what I can slap together with some plywood and a skill saw if some scrap I-beam isn't available.

Drill your own holes.

Drilling own holes doesn't appear to be an option due to the triangular base of the Lee press.

In the flood of hits I got once I did a search for the Dillon Strong Mount, I found a dude at ar15.com who makes a superior like stand for RCBS presses. I'm arranging to have him fix me up with one of his, but with a few tweaks to accommodate the Lee.

This is one made from scrap aluminum, it's actually a copy of one Lyman offered years ago made of wood.

Dang it, now I gotta break out the mig welder and make me one too with quick release pins to move the press from the garage bench to my portable castered bench.

No need to get fancy, just go to a steel yard and get a remnant piece of I-Beam If you get a large enough piece you wont have to bolt it to your bench.

I use an 8" long piece of a drilled and tapped scrap steel 6" I-beam to raise my press high enough to allow me to fully depress the lever without bending over. My back loves it.
