Well, should I buy this, or not?

So, the girlfriend has been getting into the hobby, and she rents things when we go to the range. Already planning on buying some kind of 22LR rifle for her, but she said something the other day that made me well up with pride...

"Baby, i want a pistol!" :D

So, we were looking, and she really likes the short barrel version of the P22...

I started looking on gun broker, and I'm seeing NIB models for anywhere from 259 to 299. So I went to Turners to talk to Bob, the guy who sold me my XD.

He says he'll do one for 229! :what:

So, A.) is that a good price (I think it is
and B.) what are you guys' impressions of this pistol.

Admittedly, she only likes it cuz it was the most attractive .22 we saw (she says "Aw, it's CUTE!"). and getting a larger caliber is OUT OF THE QUESTION right now because she's a girl who has spent most of her life scared of guns, and this is slow process for her.

Another question: is there a conversion kit to make it a long barrel? would be nice for my range days :-D

Thanks in advance,
James

Thats a good price, I paid $249 out the door for mine.

The P22 is a great shooter. You will like it.

As far as the long barrel, Yes you can get the barrel separate or you can buy the gun with both barrels

I might be mistaken, but I think you can buy the longer barrel and if fits right in.

Sorry I didn't read all of the previous post.

Hello Fitz,

I paid $229 for mine about 9 months ago, so it's a good price given the way prices tend to creep up.

After our first range session with it, it became my Wife's pistol. She lets me take it to the range by myself and lets me clean it, but it became hers as soon as she shot it. I'm just grateful she goes with me and now has a pistol she actually enjoys shoting.

I buy Remiongton Goldbox at Wally world and get zero failures. Stay away from plain lead, however, it doesn't like them so much.

Many people, me included, have had a problem with the roll pin adjacent to the safety creeping out. I sent it back in for repair and they fixed it and sent me an extra magazine for it, as well.

Shoot well,

Scarface

It's a good price especially for Turner's! ;)
