WooHoo!! Scored with my AR-10!

I was sitting under a big Pecan tree in the corner of a big field in Navarro County, TX, when I looked to my left and here's this nice 8 point buck moving through the middle of the field. I waited until he stopped to scan ahead and took the shot at about 175yd. He took one 165gr Sierra HPBT, moved about 20yd, and layed down. Meat in the freezer! This was the first serious hunt with my AR-10 and an outstanding success. It could have gone better though, I missed shots on a coyote and some pigs. More practice for me.

Excellent. Not trying to be a doofus here or anything, but for the size of the rack and compared to the rifle, that deer looks really small. How much did he weigh dressed out?

NRA4LIFE - The deer in that area of the state just aren't that big. I don't know what he weighed, but I was just barley able to load him in the truck myself. He seemed to have a rather narrow body and had not built up a lot of fat for the winter.
Zak - That is a stock AR-10A4 with a 20in SS Barrel. The scope is a Simmons AETEC 2.8-10x. I'm feeding it 165gr Sierra HPBT Gamekings over 42gr IMR4895. I love that rifle. It's more accurate than me for sure.
