I recently picked up a Micro Desert Eagle, as did my step-dad, and today we went to the range to try them out. We each shot a box of 50 through them. Its a really fun gun! At 50 feet, we were getting 5" groups. At a more reasonable 20 feet, almost all of them in the bulls eye. The long, heavy trigger pull takes some getting used to, but lets face it, the gun is designed as a self-defense weapon, not a range-gun. Single-hand and weak-hand shots were easy to fire and recover from. I had 2 FTF's, but I attribute this to the large amount of oil from my initial cleaning, and the way I was holding the gun (supposedly holding the floating mag can cause jams, or so I've been told). There was a pretty significant flash from the gun, and I got a lot of powder burn, but I really like the gun.

After that, I brought out my Springfield XD-40 Subcompact. I recently installed a Pearce grip extension, so was pretty excited to try it with that. I also got some gloves with a textured palm and finger area. Granted I've only put a few boxes of shells through the gun up until now, but I think the gun is much more manageable now. At 20 feet, I was shooting about 2" groups. I love that little gun!

I'll probably end up selling the Micro Desert Eagle in favor of a Kahr MK40, but only because I can't afford to keep them both.
