Usually around this time of year we don't see much political activity. However, there is a vacancy in the House of Delegates that is going to be filled in the next week. The guy stepping down, Rick Weldon (District 3B) seemed to be solidly in favour of the RKBA. Unfortunately one of the two front runners *might* be an anti (http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/local/politics/2009/12/eight_apply_for_job_of_frederi.html). The other front runner (Hough) (http://www.houghfordelegate.com/issues.html)is solidly on our side and for the RKBA. The [partisan] nominating committee isn't really asking hard questions and we need to make sure the RKBA is at the top of their agenda.
For those MD'ers who live in Frederick or Washington Counties, It would be helpful to contact the Washington and Frederick County Committees (http://www.msa.md.gov/msa/mdmanual/40party/html/repl.html) and tell them how important the RKBA is in the nominating process.
