So I gave in and bought a box of Hornady .50 Sabots with a .44 cal 300 gr bullet, I'm going to try these in my inline I have both FFFg & FFg Goex black powder what do you suggest for a starting load.
What about lube?

No lube needed for sabots-I'd start with 80 grs of FFG and go up if nessary.

I shoot 110 grains of Triple Seven 3fff behind a .45 sabot. (180 grains for the most part) However, I'm in wide open and relatively flat country and the majority of my shots are made at rather long distance (no choice) and using a scope so I need the ability to reach on out there....
