I need some recommendations for my Savage 30-06 (no accutrigger) on a scope base. I would need a one-piece as I already have a two-piece and the shaft of my new scope isn't long enough for the rings to reach each base. This will be for a project gun that has been collecting dust as one of my safe queens. My new year's resolution is to bring her back to life.

The one piece base ring spacing will be the same as it is with two-piece bases.

One over the front receiver ring, and one over the rear receiver ring.

You can use your two piece bases and one or more extended rings of the same brand to get them where they need to be to fit the short scope tube.

Thanks RC. Looks like that's what I'll need instead of the one-piece base. I was under the impression I could go one way or the other, but it looks like you're right. I'll have to go with the extended rings. Thanks for the input. I knew I came to the right place.

There are several makers... look at EGW, Warne and TPS for the best for the price. I've used TPS and Warne for years on my Savage builds..and EGW parts in my 1911's. All great parts. TPS and Warne make great rings too. Go Steel if you can as aluminum is a little less durable if you over torque.

EGW is nice and they are local for me. Solid parts being built by EGW.

EGW is FANTASTIC. Ive got a 110 30-06 without the accutrigger as well. Stuck a sightron SII big sky scope 6.5-20x50. I did try a B-Square scope base but was quickley turned away when the screws stripped out, asked for new ones and never got them. I only put 25 inch pounds on them. When I got the EGW scope base in, I could tell it was certainly a quality piece of machining and Was extremely happy I went with theirs. Paired with Leupold's PRW rings, you should have a rock solid set up.
