I have handled one and am impressed with feel and extremely light weight (intended use is upland hunting, not high-volume target shooting). Anyone have experience with quality of these shotguns?

I haven't, isn't Franchi the Italian company that makes the SPAS shotgun?

Italian, yes. Don't know about that other gun. Franchi is distributed by Benelli. They have been around a long time and this Renaissance shotgun is a new model with an alloy receiver, and in a 28" O/U 12 ga it only weighs 6 lbs. It's a pretty gun and considerably less expensive than a Beretta ultralight. It's got me thinking about trading in an older (heavier) gun.

I have a Renaissance "Sporting" (see link), and all I can say is it's a whole lot of gun for the money!! :) I use it strictly for clay shooting.

I had one, and I liked it a lot.

I kind of regret getting rid of it.

I would buy another one again.
