Ive just purchesed a colt M1911 in 45 acp I dont know to much about it could someone please tell me what they know its ser# is 88064 how can i get another mag for it

I know little of 1911s I am just learning myself. Congrats on the new purchase. As far as a spare mag you could probably walk into a gun store and find one that fits. I think they are fairly standard. There are of course different qualities but its really all about how it functions in your weapon.

If that is complete serial number you have a really early production.

I think if he got that early of a 1911 he would know it, because of the price tag (unless he got it from some old lady or something)

I only paid 300 canadian local pawn shop i dont even know whats its worth

If you got pics that would really help these guys out, if it says colt on it and you only paid 300 Canadian, you did reeal good.

i go to pick it up tommrow with paper work done ill post some picstommrow but its not the greatest looking gun i hade dated it to 1913 with the ser #

Please put up some pictures of it, sounds like an awesome find. Magazines for 1911s are pretty easy to find, lots of companies making them, I am not sure about which ones are best, but there are literally dozens of companies making them. For my pistols I always try to buy Mec-Gar magazines when I can, they are always flawless, they are reasonably priced, they are OEM magazines for many manufacturers, the list of positives with them goes on and on.
