I bought a Randall 1911 A-11 for $450 a few months ago. At a recent gunshow I saw one in about the same condition as mine (very good? some minor galling on the right side of the dust cover and very minor surface scratches, that could be buffed out) for $1185. I've seen the online for around $900. I found a reciept for $1391. My question is what's it worth, more or less. I've recently decided to get into CAS and am thinking of selling one or two of my unused guns to by the cowboy guns

It all depends on the specific model - I briefly owned a couple of Randall A111's, which were the basic stainless steel, full-sized, 5" barrel, fixed-sight service models, and I sold/traded them for about $450 each. The compact models are worth more; Randalls in 9mm or 38 Super are worth even more; and left-handed Randalls are worth yet more. Go to a Barnes & Noble and scope out the Randall section in Fjestad's Blue Book of Gun Values, and it'll tell you everything you need to look for when evaluating your gun's value.

Sorry about that I should have mentioned that it was A-111. It's a great gun but I have 2 other 1911s and never shoot this one

Well, I don't think you're gonna pay off the house with this gun - even though there were only 3421 of the A111's made, their fair market value is only about $700 in NIB condition, WITH box, papers and all. Even then, you're only gonna get that if some collector REALLY wants your Randall. As far as any other gun buyers are concerned, it's worth no more or less than any other stainless Government Model in like condition.

Now, if you put it up on GunBroker.com and do some REALLY good "creative writing" in the item description, who knows what kind of bid you're gonna get...

I had figure about $600 to $700 to a collector. I only bought it becuse it was a stainless 1911 for $450. And it's a good gun I'm not a collector and collectability means absolutly nothing to me . For me it's always been function or coolness factor. I'll probably trade it for a .45 Peacemaker type SA.
