Got my new trigger in the mail today from Bill Springfield for my AR15.

I ordered the 4lb group with the speed hammer modification. I ordered a set rather than sending mine in so I could retain my stock parts for any future use.

In my envelope was a small, well worn brownells baggie containing a hammer with spring, trigger with spring, disconnector with spring, and safety switch. They were identical to my stock parts except for what appears to be some polishing/stoning, maybe some different springs, and there's a small dab of metal on the tail of the trigger that looks like it serves the same purpose a set screw would. The hammer had been refinished where the tail had been cut off and looks nicely done.

Everything went in smoothly after a good coat of FP-10. I reassembled the rifle and dryfired a few times to get every situated. The trigger seems a little lighter, but a LOT crisper. There's also a lot less overtravel, I'm guessing because of the little metal blob on the trigger.

I shot 10 rounds of Lake City M855 and all fired properly. The primers on the rounds fired with the speed hammer were dimpled deeper than the ones from the stock trigger I removed. It's probably my imagination, but it felt like there was a tiny bit less time between trigger pull to the gun firing; maybe due to the reduced mass and increased speed of the hammer?

Changed the bolt to the CMMG conversion I just reported on, and fired another 10 rounds. Again, all went as planned.

My birthday is coming up in a few weeks so I'm planning on giving the new parts a good work out.
