First, I have no clue what NC powder is. Nitrocellulose???
(More commenly refered to as Smokeless Powder in reloading & shooting circles.)
And no, you can't load .380 ACP with black powder.
Not nearly enough case capacity for a BP charge to fit.
BTW: If you are in Denver USA, why don't you have access to smokeless powder??
You in prison or something??

Congrats on your first post Chris.
I have no idea what you're asking, but it's good you're asking before doing anything.
Any of the very fine reloading manuals out there will serve you well in this matter. I gotta believe that someplace in Denver has any number of brands and types of pistol powder for sale?
have you tried here?:

I want to build some kind of Zip Gun,and i havenīt a Reamer for the Chamber. So i chose the 280 ACP (9mm kurz). The only Case i know thats not lightly conical shaped and weak enough for the Pipe. I must work with Sandpaper,no lathe present.

I want to build some kind of Zip GunBuild a zip-gun in Germany huh?
Well, that right there sounds like a very dumb idea.
I don't know what the gun laws are like in Germany, but you could probably find yourself in prison with Bruno the Impaler pretty easily.
FYI: Bruno is a second cousin to Bubba the Butt Bandit in American prisons.

I think if you loaded it with BP, the bullet would come out of the barrel, but it wouldn't "work" in the sense that it would be down on velocity and wouldn't work in a semi auto. But if it's a home made single shot, couldn't you make it a 38 special just as easy? BP will work in a 38 special.
By the way, I am not a lawyer even where I live, much less in Germany. Sounds like you might be at least on the edge of legal if not over the line, I really don't know. I also don't know what NC is?

I taught Nitrocellulose is Smokeless powder or Am I Wrong? We lost the war and now our gun right are crap. Only police officer, security service,Sport Shooters can own guns.
But i want to protect me too.
38 special sounds god but can my 3/32" stainless steel pipe handel the pressure?

Sorry, I have no feelings for you one way or the other - lol
Maybe we have us a 2nd language barrier thing then? Your profile says you are in Denver? You post that you are in prison in Germany? You are asking for info on how to make an illegal firearm? And you want me to take you seriously?
If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck and looks like a duck, it's better than a 50-50 chance that it's a duck. Same goes for trolls.

Well O.K. then.
You are from Germany, but living in Denver!
I'll assume you are not a troll, but a mis-guided teenager wanting to make a zip-gun.
SO, regardless of your citizenship status, if you make a zip-gun, and shoot somebody with it, it won't be Bruno the Impaler you are in the same cell with in Germany.
It will be Bubba the Butt Bandit in Denver!
Seriously, if you are a foreign national living in the U.S., making a zip-gun for self-defense is one of the very last things in the world you should try to do!
Go to a sporting goods store and buy a industrial size can of Bear Repellent spray to defend yourself with.
Unlike a zip-gun, at least you probably won't get thrown in jail & deported if you have to use it.

"3/32" pipe is internally less than .090, nowhere near what you need for a .380. you should follow advice given and buy bear repellent or you'll wind up likely shooting yourself and be a youtube star!

Chris doesn't live in Denver. Chris was in Denver when he registered here.
Chris now lives in Germany, in or near Bonn.
Chris is evidently German, with English as a second language, but would like to move back to the USA permanently.
Chris doesn't say how old he is, but it would seem that he is quite young, maybe in his teens or early twenties.
Chris detests the gun laws he finds himself saddled with in his home country, since those laws would render him unarmed. In the interest of self defense, however, he wants to make a zip gun for himself.
It doesn't seem, however, that he has researched the legal aspect of this plan.
If I have misinterpreted some part of this, I invite Chris to contact me by PM.
Meanwhile, as we do not encourage potentially illegal activity here, and neither do we speculate on the best approach to do something that will result in an illegal condition, I will close this thread.

I see that while I was distracted in the middle of composing my post, Art has succinctly expressed the meat of the matter.
Brevity is the soul of wit.
