I have been trying to round up some info on locating and purchasing 3 rare colt revolvers, and figured this would be a good place to start. Any info on any one of these would be greatly appreciated. I cant even find the production dates on the revolvers? Like i said, any info would help alot.
1. Colt BOA
2. Colt Grizzly
3. Colt Kodiak
Saw these at a gun show 2 months ago and had the chance to buy them but i didnt. and now i am regretting it. Thanks

No luck on the Grizzly or the Kodiak, but there's a Colt Boa boxed set (http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=13321609) on Gunbroker.
PS - I hope you're rich! :D

i saw this set on Gunbroker, yes that is out of my price range. These guns at the gunshow were stickered at 900-1300. For 1K a piece i could have all three, apposed to this set on gunbroker. Of course i wont be spending that either. If i can find 1, i will be happy. Thanks

I can see the BOA continuing the Snake association of Colt revos but haven't heard of a Kodiak or Grizzly. Guess they ran outa snakes and switched to bears?

The Boa was a limited run of 1200 (600 in 4" and 600 in 6") Deluxe Trooper MkV made for Lew Horton in 1985. The prices have sky rocketed on them.
The Grizzly was a limited run of 500 models from the Colt Custom Shop chambered in .357mag.
The Kodiak has been a mystery. It is a limited Lew Horton model in .44mag. It's built on a deluxe Anaconda frame and some if not all have oblong ports. I think it was built in 1993 and around 1200 models were made.
Another model to add to your list is the Viper. A .38sp alloyed framed PPS made in 1977 that is becoming rare.
I have a Combat Cobra which is a limited (1000 models) Lew Horton .357mag that I hope obtains the status like that of the Boa and Viper.
Correction:
I have just read from a poster on another forum who has owned both the Kodiak and the Grizzly that they both were Colt Custom Shop model built in 1993. He said that 2000 Kodiaks were made not 1200.

It was a Trooper/Lawman frame with a Python Barrel.
If that was the Mark III Trooper/Lawman, it was probably a pretty good shooter, but I've got to say it sounds a lot like dropping a Porsche motor into a Volkswagen: feasible, but silly.

Well actually the Porche is a sibling of the Volkswagen. Porche wanted to build a racing Volkswagen, but management refused. He quit his position with Volkswagen and started his own company "Porche". Notice how the 911 resembles a Beetle on steroids. The motor design is similar with horizontally opposed cylinders (6 for the 911 and 4 for the Beetle).
So your analogy is really not far off.

So, i dont suppose anyone knows where i could round any one of these bad boys up. I'm telling you, i am sure kicking myself in the rear end for not buying at least one of them at that gun show. They all 3 were new and unfired. I believe the Boa was 900.00 and the Grizzly and Kodiak he had stickered for 1300.00. I am supposing thats probably about right on price?

That's actually a pretty good deal for a Boa.

The Python Hunter series (8" python with Luepold pistol scope from the factory) is very rare, and cost +$200 - a favorite for the "snake charmers"

I knew a fellow quite a few years ago who invested considerable time, money, and effort putting a Porsche motor in the back of a Volkswagen beetle. He ended up with a very loud, fast Volkswagen—and promptly drove it off a road and wrecked it.

I believe there is a blued example with the scope still at the KC Cabela's 'Gun Room'. I didn't look at the price. They actually have several Pythons, including a 4" blued in very nice condition that has captured my attention. But I don't have a spare grand laying around!

I have a Colt Kodiak 6". A friend of mine bought a 4" Kodiak at the same time. They were limited to 2000 pistols. I believe there were to be 1000 of each barrel length. I've kept mine pretty pristine - still in the original hard case and I still have it in the Colt box with the original price tag on it. It's a great shooting pistol with a terrific trigger job courtesy of the Colt Custom Shop. I've thought of parting with it, but maybe I'll hold on since the very few I've seen for sale have been climbing in price.

OK, I'll toss in a picture of Da Bears !!!

FYI, these were NOT Lew Hortons, but a limited run produced for Western Hoegee (sounds like a Sandwich shop).
My cardboard outter boxes are marked WESHOE and would confirm that.
At a "G" each, I would have been all over that set.

I know a couple of guys in the 60's with Porshe's who did the very same thing. When those rear-engined cars let go, it was sudden and swift, without a lot of warning. They're much better now, especially the all wheel drive models.

I have a six inch BOA, I shoot it all the time. It's just a Trooper MK5 with a funny barrel. I put "Colt" Gripper Pachmeyers on it in '86. Anybody wana buy the Rosewoods?

Driving a rear engine Por sche (two syllables) all out , you never lift your foot off the go pedal in a turn, unless you want to do a whooptee, but rather reach for the next lower gear and spool up the kompressor and power through the exit.
Kinda like making sure you put out enough lead to negate the threat !

Hi, I saw your post here on THR for the Colt Grizzly. I have one, I am the original owner and purchased the revolver in March 1995. The gun is in like new condition and fired maybe a few hundred rounds. Kept mainly for collection, not really sure if I want to sell but let me know if interested.
