I came across an excellent condition model 721 in 270. :D Was $250 a fair price? :neener:

Yes- Look what $250 will get you in a "modern" gun- plastic stock, plastic trigger guard, a un-polished black finish, rough action...

Needless to say, I love my 721 (on permanent loan from my uncle). It has been hunting many, many times, so can not be described as "excellent" anymore! :D

I agree. 721/722 Remingtons sell for low and they are high in quality compared to modern new guns in that price range. The trigger is as good as any 700, basically the same, quite adjustable. My 722's set for 3 lbs.

I inherited mine. I had it reblued some years ago as it was getting a little faded. And, I refinished the simple stock, no checkering, makes refinishing a lot easier. It's looking good and shoots even gooder. :D This gun shoots 3/4 MOA. It's of far better finish and IMHO built quality than my Savage 110. The action is smooth as a baby's butt compared to that 110s sandpaper grit feel. The Savage shoots fine, I just think a 721 in good mechanical shape is better fitted and finished.

250 is a good deal.

Y'all are making me want to hit up the pawn shops and estate sales around here to see if I can find some killer deals.
I did a bit of that in my vintage stereo collecting days and vintage bicycle days. Got enough of both of those. Time to get more guns!
