This is the description from Cheaper-Than-Dirt:

No Rust No Corrosion Gun Storage Bags For Long Term Storage

Made from the same material developed for the U.S. military to eliminate the need for cosmoline. These bags offer years of protection against rust, dust, and surface pitting of your valuables or firearms.

Are these bags really any good? Maybe not really as good as cosmoline, but how good are they?

Put it this way...

Uncle Sam's armed forces don't use commoline anymore...

The packaging included a material called VIP (Vapor Inhibitor Paper) that give off fumes that prevent rusting. The purpose of the bag is to seal in the vapor.

Gun manufacturers also wrap guns in VIP before they are placed in the box - this though is for short term storage as the box isn't sealed.

Go Google "Vapor Rust Inhibitor" and see what you find... ;)
