In general, how do the BRNO Mausers rate for quality? I'm thinking of buying one. Obviously, at this point the individual rifles are going to vary quite a bit in condition, but I'd like to know if BRNO did good work in building these.
Thanks.
Roger

BRNO/CZ did awesome work with their Mausers. They are every bit as good as the German ones. The very best are typically those sold to Persia, primarily because they were taken good care of and never saw WWII.

The pre-War BRNOs were top-notch, exhibiting quality you don't see in mass produced rifles anymore. I have a VZ-24 made in the mid-1930s. Although it's a bit rough, you can still see that the craftsmanship that went into it was amazing by current standards.
VZ-24 actions have been prized since after WW2 for making Mauser sporters. They are some of the best rifles ever made.

you'll probably never buy more rifle for $100 than a 98/22:D
