My father died two years ago on 9/11 (just one more reason to hallow that day).

My family agreed that this would go to me. I know it's not a man-stopper but it was my Dad's and so it's special.

That's not the way I want to acquire one, but that is one that I want to acquire.

Enjoy it!! That is one awesome gun.

Believe me, I'd much rather have Dad enjoying it to this day.

Excellent pistols and will help you keep your shooting skills sharp at less cost. Your Dad would be pleased by that.;)

Sorry to hear. I have wanted one of those for a while. But you will atleast think of your father while shooting.

Your father was obviously a man of discerning taste.

By the way: with these pistols, beware of aftermarket magazines. The ones made by Ruger are much better. Aftermarket magazines tend to pinch the rounds and the springs don't well,....spring. I can only get 8 rounds in the aftermarket mag but the Ruger mag holds 10.

With hollowpoints, I guess it could be a defender....in a pinch.

Still in the market for a Hi-Power, though.

Sorry for your loss.

I have an identical MKII, one of my favorite pistols.

Very nice Ruger. My wife has one. Definitely use Ruger magazines. The aftermarket mags are junk compared to the Ruger OEM.

i inherited most of my fathers firearms as well , treasure them , he would want you to and pass them on to the next generation when the time comes , its the american way ,

i too have a mkII [albeit blue] - i think they are one of the best ruger made , and mine is the most accurate 22cal handgun i own [and i have a bunch - no two the same]

It's not intended to be a man-stopper. It's a wonderful plinker, camp gun, teahing aid, survival tool, etc., and if used as intended cannot be beat.

I know your father would want you to enjoy it; we do, too!
