Great site with a ton of photo's from a soldier with the 101st Airborne in Iraq.

"Through the lens of a soldier" (http://www.pbase.com/sms/iraq&page=1)

I think the caption for this one was perhaps the funniest I've seen in days, don't ask me why.

WABBIT SEASON!

Lot's of great photo's of soldiers just trying to deal with the war.

I really hope this hasn't been posted before (didn't find any trace of it in a search)

The gun she's firing in this pic belongs to my old unit. The patch on the kevlar is a torii, the distinguishing mark of the Rakkasans, the 3rd Brigade and their supporting units. That means the gun and its' crew belong to 3rd Battalion / 320th Field Artillery Regiment, The Red Knights. Oooh-Rah. Nice to see my comrades in action.

The soldiers in the top pic belong to 3rd Bn / 187th Infantry, The Iron Rakkasans. The pieces of burlap on their helmets are called 'Iron Hair', because they are the only battalion in the division to wear it. It's been a part of their SOP for quite a long time. 3/187 is the only BN in the 3rd BDE that I didn't actually work for at one time or another. They are one of the better battalions in the division though.
