Hey guys.
Im thinking about picking up the "SpecOps Adjustable Shotgun Hunting Stock" from Knoxx. My question is does anyone have experience with this product or any of the other Knoxx recoil reducing stocks? Is this stock worth the money? I have a remmy 870 12 ga. with a 20inch slug barrel. The recoil on this hog is terrible and since i got this shotgun i have never actually sighted it in. I have a bushnell 1x4 shotgun scope mounted with the B-square mount.

I love this shotgun and really want to hunt with it next year but i havnt found a slug it likes yet. My problem is when i go to the range I can only put 3-5 rounds down the tube before i am done and not enjoying my trip to the range at all. I have thought about using a sled, sissy pads, and a shoulder pad but really dont want to buy somthing im not going to wear or use in the woods. ie practice like you fight.

Also if anyone has any recomendations for slugs they use in their set that is simulair to mine would be appreciated. I have tried remmington copper solid 3inch, Remmington accu tips in 2 3/4 and 3 inch, and winchester super X 3inch.

Thanks guys and have a good one.

I have a Knoxx stock and it does work. :) FWIW, if your barrel is not rifled, I've had excellent luck with K.O. slugs - found them at Dicks. Not a clue on rifled barrels.

Thanks Al, I have not tried the K.O. slugs. I am going to have to pick up a box. I have also heard good things about the Hornady SST. does anyone here use them in a 870 with 20inch rifled slug barrel?

I have one on my wife's shotgun - they REALLY do reduce recoil! This stock makes it so my wife can confidently control a 12-gauge.

On the other hand, I myself, don't really care for it that much, mainly because pistol-grip shotgun stocks aren't my cup of tea, and also, this stock will give you a pretty wicked cheek-slap.
I have a Speedfeed II on my own shotgun.

If you purchase the "Power-Pak" accessory, it is supposed to give you a pretty good cheek-weld to the stock, thus eliminating the cheek-slap issue.

They do work well, I had one on my HD 870.

If you are looking for good cheap slugs for a rifled barrel, check out Remington buckhammers. I would get the knoxx stock before you try shooting them tho. They don't call the BUCKhammers for nothin.

Yes the stock works great, Yes it beats the crap out of your face without the PowerPak when using anything bigger than 2 3/4" target loads.

Also a personal opinion is that for me having a pistol grip makes it easier to really pull the stock back into your shoulder with your trigger hand like it should be.

Experience has told me that I can't shoot 12-gauge slugs out of a rifled barrel, with this stock I can shoot 8-10 before I'm done.

I have a Remington 870 with 20 inch smooth bore. It loves Remington Sluggers.

do a search here for the knoxx stock. You should find a couple of other threads praising and swearing at it. I enjoy mine still after 4 years
